By choosing a mochila, or when a mochila choses you, you are directly supporting sustainable fashion and empowering the indigenous women artisans behind each bag. Passed down from mother to daughter, their weaving skills carry generations of tradition and cultural significance. Each purchase is an investment in preserving Arhuaco heritage and strengthening their communities.

A mochila is made from natural materials like wool and plant fibers from the fiqué plant and connects you directly to Mother Earth.
When a mochila is no longer in use, it can be returned to the Earth, buried to decompose and rejoin the natural cycle. Alternatively, it can be hung as a meaningful decoration.
Handwoven

Creating a mochila is a spiritual process for the Arhuaco women, who often spend a month in meditation while weaving. Each stitch is made with an intention, infusing the bag with meaning and purpose. As a result, each mochila is unique, incorporating symbols that reflect Arhuaco values of harmony with nature, ancestral wisdom, and the interconnectedness of all life—telling stories and carrying cultural messages passed down for generations.
Each mochila is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, handwoven to combine conscious fashion with profound spiritual meaning. Ideal for those who value originality and authenticity.
Which one is the right one for you? Trust your intuition
—your mochila will call to you.
A conscious gift from woman to woman in support of Mother Earth.
The Arhuaco people, guardians of Mother Earth, have dedicated millennia to restoring the planet's balance through their spiritual traditions. This sacred responsibility is woven into every mochila, crafted with care and intention by Arhuaco women.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Arhuaco tribe retreated to the mountains, relying on their sheep for survival. This left the women without wool to craft their mochilas, forcing them to buy it at unfairly high prices while struggling to sell their bags for what they’re truly worth.
When you purchase a mochila, you are not just buying a bag—you are empowering these women by providing fair compensation for their artistry, preserving their traditions, and supporting their vital role as stewards of Mother Earth. Your support helps the Arhuacos continue their sacred mission of maintaining balance and harmony for generations to come.
Much more than a bag
A mochila is more than just a bag—it’s a timeless work of art, deeply rooted in tradition and purpose.
Every mochila is a deeply personal creation, woven with intention and imbued with meaning.
Handwoven by the Arhuaco tribes, who see themselves as guardians of Mother Earth, mochilas reflect their commitment to preserving environmental and spiritual harmony.
Made from natural materials, your mochila connects you to the Earth, becoming a part of your journey. Over time, it holds more than just your belongings—it carries also your memories and experiences, a piece of your story.
When you carry a mochila, you’re not just supporting the Arhuaco artisans—you’re embracing a meaningful connection to heritage, nature, and your own life’s path.
A mochila is never discarded or casually given away. It is an extension of its owner, symbolizing a sacred bond between you and the Earth.
How to choose your mochila
No two mochilas are the same. Each is crafted by hand, making it a unique accessory that combines high fashion with deep spiritual meaning, ideal for someone who values originality and authenticity.
Choosing a mochila is more than picking a bag—it’s discovering the one that resonates with your spirit so it can become a part of your unique journey.
Browse through the unique designs and patterns. Look closely at the intricate designs. These patterns often represent natural elements such as rivers, mountains, or animals. They carry stories and meanings that connect you to the wisdom of Mother Earth.
Trust your intuition—your mochila will call to you.
Once you’ve found the mochila that speaks to you, know that it has been woven with intention, waiting for you to continue its journey.

Hi,
We’re Goedele and Mahdi.
In November, we traveled to Colombia and had the privilege of meeting the Arhuaco people, an indigenous tribe with a rich tradition of weaving mochilas.
These beautiful bags are crafted with deep intention and carry the wisdom of generations.
Inspired by their artistry and the women who create them, we brought 41 mochilas back with us to help share their stories and ensure these women receive fair compensation for their work.
A few of tem are still waiting for their righteous owner.
